Below is a summary of Causeway Connection (Zoom) meetings between riders and planners. During meetings, our staff and participating partners do their best to answer all of the questions asked of them. If we are unable to respond to all of the questions in the allotted time we will post our responses on this page.

Outstanding questions
  • Will it be possible to open the half-hour buses in the afternoon, leaving UCDMC in between 4:10 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.?
  • At this time, it does not appear there is an agreement to go forward in September. SacRT, Yolobus, and UC Davis all need to reach an agreement not just on what time slots to add, but whether it is feasible to go forward at all with increased service.
  • Does the service alert system include delayed buses? 
  • Yes. If you subscribe to the alerts, you should get an email notice when buses are running significantly late (e.g., 10-15 minutes or more).

  • What's the best way to track the buses?
  • We recommend using the Transit app or Moovit app (available in Apple Store or Google Play) for real-time tracking of bus location. SacRT has received occasional complaints about the accuracy/consistency of the real-time, but not enough to have identified a clear and obvious problem. If you are noticing consistent problems, please bring them to our attention and we will investigate - feedback@causewayconnection.com.
  • How can Davis incentivize employees to take transit? 
  • There are so many ways that organizations choose to encourage transit use--work with transit providers to establish relevant routing, improve transit competitiveness relative to driving alone (cost, convenience, comfort), and where UCD can't provide an incentive to take the bus, you might be able to provide a disincentive to drive alone (charge for parking, etc.). Of course, every organization has its limitations; often fiscal. Within the context of the Causeway Connection, UCD subsidizes a major portion of the operational expenses of the route and, in exchange, the route is free to use by UC Davis affiliates. "Free" is a strong competitor against the cost of gas, stress of driving, etc.
  • Are electric scooters permitted on the Causeway Connection?
  • Currently, no, SacRT does not allow electric scooters on any of the buses because some models pose a risk of catching fire. However, this decision is being reviewed by the Risk and Safety Department and based on their findings, SacRT may update the policy.
