• Westbound lane of Kleiber Hall Dr. at Mann Lab will be closed Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., from February 19 to March 8.

Children’s bicycle helmets handed out at events on campus last year have been recalled by the manufacturer.

The helmets, Retrospec Scout in sizes small and extra-small, were given out by the UC Davis Police Department at events like Picnic Day, Thank Goodness for Staff, Take Our Children to Work Day and elsewhere between April and June.

The department distributed 76 of the helmets, purchased with a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety.

• The City of Davis will install new concrete on Putah Creek Path (under I-80, near Olive Dr), from South Davis to UCD.
• Bicyclists should plan to add 15-20 minutes to their commute for the detour.

• Mind that tire pressure: lower your PSI a smidge to make better contact with the road.
• Get out your fender(s) and rain gear: keep yourself and your stuff dry.
• Lube your chain and lock: avoid rusting!

• The northbound right-turn lane of Garrod Dr at La Rue Rd will be closed to vehicles and bicycles and the eastbound Garrod Dr bicycle lane will also be closed for construction work through the end of the year.
• Watch for lower speed limits and merging bicycle traffic.
