Updates to Your goClub Membership

Last updated July 2021

While we remain committed to sustainable transportation, funding for the goClub (subsidies, transit vouchers) is made possible from parking revenue, which has seen an 80% decline since March 2020.

  • Complimentary parking passes will no longer be offered to goClub members as of July 1, 2021.
  • ParkMobile is available on campus and goClub members now have access to affiliate rates through the pay-to-park app.
  • Carpool parking permits are no longer available. However, sharing the ride and sharing the parking cost is easy with ParkMobile. Add the vehicle license plate number into your ParkMobile account and drivers and passengers can alternate days paying to park. (No need to own the vehicle to have it listed on your account.)
    • Please note: When sharing the ride, we encourage exercising caution to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and (when possible) limit your carpooling to those within your household.
  • Transit subsidies via WageWorks are suspended. We are working on providing a pre-tax, payroll deduction option for commuters, which we hope will be available in Fall 2021.

Please contact our office at 530-752-8277 with any questions.

Why choose goCarpool?

Driving to campus? Grab a friend or someone on your same route (and schedule). Or, if you are able carpool and share the ride as your primary commute, we encourage you to give it a try. If you're concerned about getting started, try Zimride, a carpooling network for the Aggie Community that connects you with other students, faculty, or staff either headed to or leaving from UC Davis.

Commuting to campus by carpool is an excellent way to hang out with friends, make new friends, and reduce traffic congestion. Join the goClub as a goCarpool member and be a part of the club with others looking for an affordable, low-stress commute.

As a registered goCarpool member, Transportation Services will provide you with the following benefits and incentives:

COVIDStudent Carpool Permits Suspended | Students may no longer participate in the registered carpool program at this time, however students may develop their own carpools and share the cost of the commute to campus. When sharing the ride, we encourage exercising caution to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and (when possible) limit your carpooling to those within your household.
  • 1. Carpools may be 2-3 persons (including driver); a carpool coordinator and carpool partner(s). All carpool riders need to arrive to campus in a single-vehicle, and have traveled a minimum of half the distance to campus together.
    2. Once you have your carpool riders, download one application. Click here to download a staff/faculty carpool application.

    3.  All the riders will need to complete a single form (i.e. one form per carpool of 2-3 persons).
    4. The carpool coordinator needs to submit the completed student goCarpool application to Transportation Services.
    5. If the application is approved, carpool coordinator and partners will be able to purchase a parking permit, and are eligible to join the goClub (goCarpool).
