Transportation operations can sometimes feel challenging to understand. How do I park on campus? What’s up with these parking zones? Is my bike going to get stolen? There's a lot of new things to understand in campus transportation and we’re here to help get you up to speed. Join Transportation Services 101, Understanding Transit and Parking Basics where we’ll break down important points for Aggies new to campus and looking to get savvy about their commute. The information we present will be brief but covering the essentials (so you can get on with your day). We’ll make time for a Q&A for anyone interested in learning more.

What are our talking points?

  • Transportation Services Overview
  • Parking at a glance
  • 5 Things Every Aggie Cyclist Should Know
  • Q&A - (remaining time)

Presenters

  • Jen Smuda, Administrative Services Assistant, has been with Transportation Services since 2015. She enjoys long walks to the campus Peet’s, nursing an iced coffee while working at her desk, and sharing raw almonds with the campus wildlife while enjoying…more coffee!
  • Sam Nelson, Administrative Services Assistant, first started working for Transportation Services as a student in 2015 and rejoined the department as career staff in 2019. Sam commuted via bicycle for six years while living in Davis, so car commuting and using ParkMobile is new for him as well.
  • Jeff Bruchez, Bicycle Program Coordinator, is a self-described bicycle pirate and enjoys long rides, which can be upwards of 300 miles per trip. There's not a day that Jeff isn't on a bike and he is working all the time to spread his peace-love-and-bike mentality to everyone he meets.
