Special Events Parking |
For those departments on campus that need to secure parking for their guests, we now have a Special Event Parking System. At this site, you can reserve parking spaces, order parking permits, and request parking attendants for your event. There are a variety of parking solutions available to cater to your specific needs.
Don't let your campus guests recieve a parking citation during their visit to UC Davis. When planning a special event on campus please contact the Campus Event and Visitor Services (CEVS) first to schedule your event and to determine the availability of campus resources. CEVS, in conjunction with Parking Services, will provide you with several available parking options.
Weeknight, Weekday and Weekend Events
A comprehensive special event attendant parking program that
manages vehicular access, provides parking convenience, and
maintains a positive presence throughout major special events is
provided on the Davis campus to better serve campus event
attendees for most major events that impact the campus parking
program. A special event parking fee of $6.00
will be charged when special event services are provided (valid
UCD parking permits will be honored).
The Motorist Assistance Program is available at no extra charge and includes: vehicle lock-outs, battery jumps, tire inflation and gasoline procurement. To take advantage of the services described above, please call Transportation and Parking Services at 752-8277 (TAPS)
Patrons are encouraged to purchase their parking permits in advance from the Campus Box Office, Mondavi Center Box Office, or BASS Outlets for each campus event.
IMPORTANT: Valid UCD parking permits are required to park on campus Monday-Friday, 7am-10pm (during the summer, June 16 - September 14, permits are required 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday) and on weekends, when special events attendants are present. Daily permits are available for $6.00 per day and may be purchased from attendants (when on duty) or from permit dispensers available in:
VISITOR AND SPECIAL EVENT PERMITS are restricted to Visitor (VP) parking lots ONLY Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm, unless specified otherwise
To Mondavi Center for the Arts
From Sacramento: Take Interstate 80 West. Exit at UC Davis. Turn right at stop sign onto Old Davis Road. Pass South Gate Information Kiosk and continue toward the Mondavi Center. Turn right directly before the parking structure. Drive past the parking structure to the surface visitor parking lots 1 or 2. Purchase a visitor parking permit on week days from the bright yellow permit dispenser or from parking attendants on duty during special events.
From San Francisco: Take Interstate 80 East. Exit at UC Davis. Turn left at stop sign onto Old Davis Road. Pass South Gate Information Kiosk and continue toward the Mondavi Center. Turn right directly before the parking structure. Drive past the parking structure to the surface visitor parking lots 1 or 2. Purchase a visitor parking permit on week days from the bright yellow permit dispenser or from parking attendants on duty during special events.

From Sacramento: Take Interstate 80 west to Richards Boulevard exit. Turn north on Richards Boulevard, go under the railroad overpass, and turn left at the stop light onto First Street. Continue for three blocks and turn right on B Street for four blocks to Russell Boulevard. Turn left onto Russell Boulevard. Turn left on Howard Way. Parking for visitors is available M-F after 5pm and on weekends in the Quad District Parking Structure, just north of Freeborn Hall, next to Hickey Gym. Visitor Parking in the structure is available at the meters 7am-10pm, the cost is posted.
From San Francisco: Take Interstate 80 east to Highway 113(north). Continue on Highway 113 and take the Russell Boulevard exit. Turn right on Russell Boulevard. Take Russell to Howard Way. Turn right on Howard Way. Parking for visitors is available M-F after 5pm and on weekends in the Quad District Parking Structure, just north of Freeborn Hall, next to Hickey Gym. Visitor Parking in the structure is available at the meters 7am-10pm, the cost is posted.
From the North: Take Highway 113 south and exit at Russell Boulevard. Turn left on Russell. Follow the "From the West" directions (above) from there.
To Main Theater
From Interstate 80: Take the Richards Boulevard exit. Turn north on Richards Boulevard, go under the railroad overpass; at the stoplight, turn left on First Street. Continue for four blocks, then turn left on A Street. Parking Lot 10 is available for visitor parking from 5pm - 10pm only, and is located on the left at First and A Streets. Parking for matinees ( 7am - 5pm) is available in Parking Lot 5, and is located at A Street and Old Davis Road. The Main Theater is approximately two blocks west on Hutchison Drive, south of Shields Library.
From the North: Take Highway 113 south to Interstate 80 east. Take the UC Davis exit and proceed north on Old Davis Road. At the first stop sign, turn right. Follow Old Davis Road to A Street. Turn left on A Street. Parking Lot 10 is available for visitor parking 5pm - 10pm only, and is located on the right side of the road at First and A Streets. The Main Theater is approximately two blocks west on Hutchison Drive, south of Shields Library. Parking for matinees is also available in Lot 5 at A Street and Old Davis Road.
To Rec Hall
From Interstate 80: Take highway 113 north (Highway 113 south if coming from the north) to the Hutchison Drive exit. Proceed east on Hutchison Drive through the first traffic light (LaRue Road). Turn left at the next street onto Kleiber Hall Drive. The nearest parking lot is past the Police/Fire Department on the left side of the road (Lot 26), and is available for visitor parking 5pm - 10pm Monday-Friday. Additional parking is also available east of Lot 26 in Lot 27. Kleiber Hall is across the street and to the south of Lot 26. The Special Event Attendant Parking Program is not usually provided at this venue.
To Rec Hall
From Interstate 80: Take Highway 113 north to the Hutchinson Drive Exit. Proceed east on Hutchison Drive and turn left onto LaRue Road. The Rec Hall is on the right side of LaRue with visitor parking available in the adjacent parking lot (Lot 25) and across the street (Lot 35).
To Varsity Theater (City Of
Davis)
From Interstate 80: (whether coming from the east or west), take the Richards Boulevard exit. (from the west, you will loop around back over the freeway. From the east , you will turn right.) Go under the railroad overpass. Continue straight through the intersection onto E Street. Turn right onto Second Street. The Varsity Theatre is located on Second Street, between E and F Streets. Parking is available along the street and in a parking structure at 1010 F Street.
To Community Theater

From Interstate 5: Take the J Street exit, which is north of Business Loop 80. Continue east on J Street. A parking garage is located at the corner of the 13th and J Streets. The Community Center Theatre is on L Street between 13th an 14th Streets.
