Permit Types

Permit Type	Description
A (Faculty and Staff)	Available to UCD faculty and career staff who are employed 50% or more. Valid in non-restricted "A" permit areas, and at UCDMC in areas where "B" permits are honored. After 5pm, "A" permits are also valid at meters.
C (Faculty, Staff, and Students)	Available to all UCD faculty, staff, and commuting students not living in residence halls or other student/family housing. Valid in non-restricted "C" permit areas. After 4pm, "C" permits are honored in "A" permit areas. Also valid at meters after 5pm.
CP2A (Two Person Carpool)	A carpool consisting of two staff and/or faculty members regularly participating in a registered carpool. Valid in reserved carpool spaces as well as "A" and "C" lots anytime when carpool permit is displayed. Temporary Pool Permits are valid at any lot or meter after 5pm without filling in date. Each member will receive one Temporary Pool Permit with up to 24 uses.
CP2C (Two Person Carpool 2)	A carpool consisting of two staff, faculty, and/or commuting students regularly participating in a registered carpool. Valid in reserved carpool spaces as well as "C" lots anytime when carpool permit is displayed. Temporary Pool Permits are valid in any lot or meter after 5pm without filling in date. Each member will receive one Temporary Pool Permit with up to 24 uses.
CP3A (Three Or More Person Carpool)	A carpool consisting of three or more staff and/or faculty members regularly participating in a registered carpool. Valid in reserved carpool spaces as well as "A" and "C" lots anytime when carpool permit is displayed. Temporary Pool Permits are valid at any lot or meter after 5pm without filling in date. Commuting students may participate in CP3A carpools if the majority of carpool members are staff and faculty. Each member will receive one Temporary Pool Permit with up to 24 uses.
CP3C (Three Or More Person Carpool3)	A carpool consisting of three or more staff, faculty, and/or commuting students regularly participating in a registered carpool. Valid in reserved carpool spaces as well as "C" lots anytime when carpool permit is displayed. Temporary Pool Permits are valid in any lot or meter after 5pm without filling in date. Each member will receive one Temporary Pool Permit with up to 24 uses.
DSA (Disabled)	Available to disabled staff, students, and faculty. Valid only when displayed with a valid DMV issued disabled persons placard or plate. Valid in disabled spaces, meters, "A" or "C" permit areas, and time zones anytime.
GP (Vanpool)	Available to all UCD faculty, staff, and commuting students who participate in a registered vanpool. Valid in A permit areas anytime, and in any lot or meter after 5pm. Also valid at UCDMC where B permits are honored. Vanpool must consist of at least seven faculty/staff members and/or students. Vanpools are entitled to a parking space reserved for their use 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
K (Cuarto Resident Exception)	Available to student housing residents that have been provided with written authorization from student housing. Valid only in the Cuarto housing area 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mon - Fri. Also valid after 5 p.m. on campus in non-restricted spaces. Any questions regarding this policy should be directed to the UC Davis Student Housing Office http://www.housing.ucdavis.edu/.
L (Remote Lot)	Available to UCD faculty, staff, and commuting students. Permit is restricted either to Lot 2 (South of Mondavi Center for Performing Arts), Lot 30 (Recreation Pool-Lodge), Health Sciences Drive-Garrod Drive (Health Sciences complex), Putah Creek Lodge (PCL) parking lot or Lot 35 (South corner of La Rue Road and Orchard Road) (determined by applicant‘s worksite). Anytime and any lot or meter after 5:00 p.m.
M (Motorcycle)	Available to all UCD faculty, staff, and commuting students. Valid for display on motorcycles and motor scooters/mopeds only. Valid only in areas designated as "M". Motorcycles may not park in regular vehicle parking spaces.
N (Night)	Available to UCD faculty, staff, and students. Provides night parking (5 p.m. - 10 p.m.) in all unrestricted spaces and at meters.
RT (Retiree)	Available to faculty and staff personnel who have retired from UC Davis employment and do not hold a current UCD-UCDMC appointment. RT permits are valid in "A" permit spaces. A fee will be assessed for replacement of a lost/stolen RT permit.
Visitor	Available for purchase from permit dispensers located at entrances to visitor (VP) parking lots. Valid in visitor (VP) parking lots on the date of purchase. After 5pm, Visitor Permits are also valid in any non-restricted parking space and at parking meters. Multiple use (up to 10 days) permits may be purchased at the TAPS office.
V (Vendor)	Available to vendors, contractors, salespersons, and consumer service representatives. Valid in areas where "A" permits are honored and in posted vendor spaces. May be purchased on a daily or long-term basis.
