Train Program
As a trainpool member, TAPS will subsidize a portion of your train pass! We offer Commuter Checks valued at $100, $150 and $230. Monthly and 10-Ride pass purchasers receive a subsidy of $23 and $18 respectively.
TAPS does not sell Amtrak passes; however, the Commuter Checks may be used at staffed Amtrak stations towards the purchase of the Amtrak pass. Please note that the Amtrak station does not give credit or change on Commuter Checks - when filling out the Application, please choose a Commuter Check denomination that is less than or equal to the value of your train pass.
Monthly Pass Purchasers:
- $23 subsidy
- Pre-tax/payroll deduction for eligible staff and faculty members. Payroll deduction forms must be submitted by the 10th of the month prior to the month you wish to join (example: March 10 for April 1).
- Two complimentary daily permits/month
- Emergency Ride Home Program
10-Ride Pass Purchasers
- $18 subsidy

Not Eligible for Payroll Deduction? Pay for your Commuter Check by Mail! Simply submit to the TAPS office your check made payable to UC Regents along with the necessary order form by the 10th of the month prior to the month you wish to receive (Example: March 10 for April 1.)
Convenience of Commuter Check mailed to you! Members may elect to have their Commuter Check and complimentary parking permits mailed to their home or department by completing a waiver form, or may elect to pick it up at the TAPS office or the Cashier's Office located on the first floor of Dutton Hall.

- The Amtrak Capitol Corridor provides weekend and weekday trips to and from downtown Davis. Click here for more information.
- The Sacramento Regional Light Rail can be used to connect to YoloBus in Sacramento.
- Unitrans provides an Amtrak shuttle from the Amtrak station to most anywhere in Davis on Sundays and Holidays. (See the service calendar for days).
